Better, but still fluff. Dan *is* a lot like Tom, only with a 'done time' past. (Even so, he told Lisa he "couldn't cover" for her "this time." Sounds like a qualifying element in his so-called thieving history). He has a bit more weltschmertz than Tom, but apparently talks about his feelings less than Tom.

Needless to say (so I say it anyway): I loved watching CP do his thing. He can't help the standard script fare. And a regular gig is very nice, for him and for all of us.

As for Zoey, good grief, can somebody flip the switch on her motor-mouth? Just once in a while? Please?! The scene in the hallway outside Dan's apartment was just embarrassing. This is a woman in her 30s who has been around the barn a few times, in sophisticated Las Vegas, to boot. She's sharpwitted and energetic and committed...and afflicted with foot-in-mouth disorder. :-)

JMO....I'll be watching for the man, no matter what.

....Sorry, CPals. I keep forgetting we all aren't in the same time zone, duh. I did a Zoey!

I enjoy Zoe's foot-in-mouth propensity. I think she's refreshing, and it's a good example of the "fish out of water" which she is. Dealing cards in Vegas doesn't necessarily give one sophistication. I think she's a diamond-in-the-rough. I also think I've reached my limit on cliche's in one post. :-)

And did anyone else spot the performer who'd had a recurring role in KFTLC?

Hi Jan and Carol,

Didn't get to watch last night until midnight - had to tape and watch after getting home from a play in the city. I agree that this week was "better" - I'm not sure how I feel about Zoey - I think I'm kind of in the middle between Carol and Jan on whether she talks too much (G). I was equating it to nervousness I think...it seems to help create the "newbie" feeling from her.

I was glad to see that they let Ms. Chong solve her own case - I was very put off by the 2nd episode references to the inemptness of the "other members of the team". I don't mind Z having insight, offering fresh ideas, maybe figuring it out with a quirky point of view, but I object to the old guys being made into incompetents. I've been trying to think about other LifeTime shows, and it seemed to me that the guys (supporting cast) are allowed to be intelligent? Maybe I'm wrong, I don't watch them that often.

But - I have to admit to being in the shallow end of the pool and just glad to have a show to watch on Saturday nights again - the absence of ANY CP TV was so depressing. Wish for something "great", but just glad to "...watch the man do his thing" as quoted above! Do like the feeling between Dan and Zoey (is that right?) they (CP and JF) seem to be having "fun" - at least up until this week. I seriously hope they handle the "after the kiss" scenario well, not just dropping the relationship but having real strain in the storyline...is she going to wonder why he doesn't "like her" any more? No more offers of coffee? ;-)

I like Dan. (Chris is looking exceptionally good. What an awesome cutie! Love the hair cut, and you know, the redhead thing is sort of fun. And at least the suits are starting to get away from the funeral director look in the pilot). He's not as witty, talented, nor clever as Tom, but he's still quite appealing in some of the same ways. Thankfully, he's not a whining child like that Pete kid. I kind of like the matter-of-fact, decidedly undramatic way that he dealt with questions about his "troubled past". If this were the Caine kid, the set would have been drenched in tears. Thankfully, they didn't do to Dan what they did to my poor, undeserving Tom in that "Rage" aberration. But Dan does need to smile/joke more. He's a little too serious (and not in a substantial way).

I don't know what weltschmertz is, but if it means something like "backbone", and someone is implying that my Tom doesn't have it, them's fighting words.

Someone, mainly me, thinks Dan has a bit of world-weariness in his nature, ala weltschmertz. I agree that he could use a bit more humor, and CP is a natural with comic timing.

I guess we'll have to wait and see how this former crook/current hunky good guy adds up. :-)
