From Entertainment Weekly:

[i]Love, loss, and insurance fraud -- life's eternal themes. Sassy blackjack dealer Zoe Busiek (Joely Fisher) confronts them all after her sister is killed in a car crash, leaving behind three kids. Zoe, up until now the prodigal aunt, returns to fight the insurance company -- which blames the accident on Zoe's sister and refuses to cough up a settlement. Naturally, Zoe goes Brockovich (it's one thing to lose a beloved sibling, it's another to have her driving record posthumously impugned!) and starts digging up facts about the accident. ''She finds out she's actually quite good at unearthing the truth,'' says Fisher. So Zoe just keeps on saving the day: After single-handedly nailing the false claimant, she manages to befriend the claims adjusters, rescue her drugged niece from a frat party, snag two potential love interests, AND land a new job -- as an insurance fraud investigator. Wait -- we're supposed to LIKE her, right? ''Well,'' says Fisher, ''I'm sure there are lovely people who do those jobs.'' -- Carina Chocano

Wild Card premieres Sat., Aug.2 at 9 PM ET/PT on Lifetime[i/]

Lisa,
Thanks for the information. Chris Potter may not have been mentioned, but it seems he made a good choice. The show is getting good press. I'm sure he'll charm the audience into more equal billing. ;-)

Yes, Lisa, thanks for catching that! From what I've seen in the press, Wild Card is a big deal. Lifetime is trying to expand its original programming from one night only (Sunday) to 2 nights -- Saturday being the second night. To be on a show that has been picked to anchor a second night of original programming on a cable network is really impressive!

Congratulations, Chris! Break a leg to you and the rest of the cast, too, and we wish you stellar ratings! :-) :-) Of course, you know we'll help make them, don't you? :-)
