The above link is from TVShowsOnDVD.com. Apparently, a company has acquired the DVD rights to sell Stephen J. Cannell series including Hunter, The Commish, Renegade, and Silk Stalkings among SJC's catalog of shows.

And the press release acknowledges while some of these shows have seen releases, not all seasons were released. So it sounds like this new distribution deal has plans to change that. So, I guess what I am saying is, if people wanted Seasons 6-8 of Silk Stalkings, keep your fingers crossed!

Lol, just as you posted the news here, I posted the link on the German board. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that this time they will release all seasons.

I contacted Mill Creek about the release and they will start in early 2010 with Season 1:

Do they mean season 1 or season 6? Because the first 5 seasons have already been released, haven't they?
Valerie
They mean season 1. They will re-release seasons 1-5 and then hopefully release seasons 6-8.

Now forgive me here, but since Amazon already has seasons 1-5 for sale, is the big word here "REDUNDANT" or am I missing something?

The agreement when Mill Creek got the rights from Anchor Bay was for all seasons. Since the prior seasons were released under Anchor Bay and not Mill Creek, Mill Creek cannot profit off the series, hence the re-release of Seasons 1 through 5. If the last two or three seasons of the Chris/Rita years are re-released as single-sided disks (as Anchor Bay stopped that after S2 or S3), I may double dip.

In any case, Hunter is also being re-released starting at Season 1. Three out of the seven seasons were released by Anchor Bay. Renegade is also starting from the beginning again. It's all about the distributors - Mill Creek - making money off of this.

Of course, the down side is, since some of the seasons have been released already, some may not buy it again. But since Mill Creek sells on the cheap, that may offset things.
