A few weeks ago, Jannine posted a message from the London Free Press titled “CP to Emcee Dinner,” which can be found at http://chrispotterpages.invisionzone.com/i...?showtopic=1254. It took a bit of time getting information on this event since our contact has been on and off sick and was waiting for confirmation on information herself.
For now, we have made special arrangements with the organizer of the 52nd Annual Sports Celebrity Dinner & Auction to reserve a couple of tables under the Chris Potter Official Fan Club for this event held on Monday, January 21, 2008, at the London Convention Centre.
The reserved tables will be held for us until Sunday, December 9th. The event has not been fully advertised to the public yet so we are getting first choice. After this date, any unsold seats will be made available to the public. We were told that this event usually sells out before the end of the year. We realize with the holidays coming up that it may be difficult to make plans but it may make a nice gift.
Tickets for CPOFC tables will not be through the Centennial Hall Box Office as advertised. However, if you have already purchased tickets for the event and would like to be included in the group, please inform us.
The event is to benefit the Thames Valley Children’s Centre and research at Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic as advertised on the TVCC website at http://www.tvcc.on.ca/51st-annual-sports-c...ner-auction.htm. Also, included is a list of the sports celebrities in attendance with CP emceeing the event. One familiar name is Doug Gilmour formerly of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has appeared on Kung Fu: The Legend Continues episode titled “Shaolin Shot.” A clip of Doug training Peter Caine can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk-ylzwCZsE.
If you are considering attending, please write to Louise at lm@interchange.ubc.ca to be included on a private mailing list for information on London, ticket purchase, possible meeting place and other questions on the event. Please type “London Group” in the subject header of your message. You may forward this message to others that may be interested in attending.

P.S. Thanks to Jannine for the post. Thanks to Valerie for her resourcefulness in providing information on projects with CP. We will be posting another message once the newsletter is completed. In the meantime, CP’s current series, Heartland, has aired its first four episodes. If you have not seen the show, watch them under the “Full Episodes” at http://www.cbc.ca/heartland/. The next episode will air on Sunday, December 2nd, on CBC Television.
