Amazon is still at it. Check out another big sale! I was finally getting ready to take down the last sale link when I was notified by Amazon of a new one. Still a good time to replace something on video tape. :-)

I finally found a way to download Season 1 of Heartland. CBC won't let me watch this online because I'm in the States. What a shame. I was able to transfer this to dvd--no extras. But it's good to watch it on tv, easier than on my iPod, and the audio is much better too.
Personally I found this to be a great show. I particularly liked the episode about horse slaughter. It was great that Canadian tv actually showed a feedlot, horses without food and water. This is a subject very near and dear to my heart. Currently slaughter houses in Canada give out gas cards and other gift cards to the drivers of slaughter trucks leaving northern CA. Horses are slaughtered for human consumption--for dinner tables in France, Japan and other Euporean dinner tables. This is very serious business. Horses are routinely given all kinds of medicine that are clearly labeled--that it shouldn't be given to horses intended for consumption. No one tests for this. For instance horses before being moved need a test for something called Coggins--I believe this is for equine encephalitis. It used to be known as sleeping sickness when I was a teen. Very dangerous and it can be transferred to people too. In any event I like this show. The acting I think is great. And the backgound scenery reminds me of Wyoming. And something that I don't usually see on US tv--real live horse poo! I was intrigued. |

I am happy to read that you were able to watch the show. I also think it`s a great show, with a very talented cast, good storylines and of course a breathtaking setting. And I was very happy when I read that there will be a second season
